To My Mother and Father(12 November 2009)   
My words are better written than spoken,  for I speak but very little.   
As I'm leaving the nest more and more  you might think I'm escaping,  as the words escape my mind  through this pen and onto this page.   
As you read this you might wonder,  "What is he getting at?"  Just as you might sometimes say,  "Where is he?"   
Every bird leaves its nest,  and every word leaves my mind,  but the words that will never leave my heart  are the "I love you" of my mother and father. To My Mother and Father

I Can't Exactly Say It(5 November 2009)   
Some people see the love in literature  and try to find it in life.  Others hear some verses sung  and on this love their heart is hung.   
Maybe a girl or a boy  will flash on the screen,  and a man or a woman  will format a dream.   
But those that know  will nod as they read,  that love in these mediums       is not love in deed.   
Love is love, and film,  the waves of sound  from a sweetly tired voice,       or even a pen  cannot capture this.

Her saying no.  Her knowing.  Her not wanting me.  Forgetting our day.   
Her getting pregnant.  Them knowing.  Us not wanting it.  Forgetting we're young.   
Her saying no.  Not asking her in time.  Calling it off.  Forgetting the ring.   
Her not getting pregnant.  My fault.  Her fault.  Forgetting the ice cream she wanted.   
Ours growing up.  Having no friends.  Not graduating.  Forgetting the candles for the cake.

Mr. Tweeldes & Co.

So, I was originally working on Mr. Tweedles & Co. as a short story way back when and took the never-surprising break from my work because of some reason or the other. Yet, for the one deviant who voted for that work to be completed next in the poll oh so long ago, I will be looking at Mr. Tweedles & Co. again.

Why? Well, my creative writing class this semester is divided into three different genres (in accordance to the text). First we did fiction, then poetry, and now we're doing playwriting in the last weeks of the semester. After reading some of the assigned one-acts for class, it made me think about what I'm going to write for the end of the semester, so I thought of Mr. Tweedles & Co., and how it might be better in the medium of a play than a short story.

It's just an idea though, when I get home I'll post what a teaser of the short story so you can see what I'm talking about.
